Mr. Lloyd Cox of Buchannan, GA, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022.
Mr. Cox was born September 15, 1930, to the late Albert Cox and Lucy Cox Caldwell.
Mr. Cox proudly served his country during the Korean War.
He loved his family and the outdoors.
Mr. Cox worked at Casey’s grocery store for 51 years and could out bag anyone on this side of the state.
Mr. Cox is also preceded in death by his loving wife Faye Cox and his brother Charles Cox.
Surviving are his daughters Patricia Hatfield (Michael) and Vicki Mayes (Philip). His sons Lloyd “Eddie” Cox Jr. (Kathy), Paul Cox (Joyce) and James “Jim” Cox (Lisa); 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends at the Litesey Funeral Home Tuesday, February 15, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Lime Branch Baptist Church Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at one o’clock in the afternoon with Rev. Brian Crisp and Rev. Billy Vines officiating. The interment will be held at Youngs Grove Baptist Church Cemetery following the funeral service.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Phillip Pledger, Chris Cox, Jacob Cox, Jack Allen, Adam Kelly and Jamey Womack. Honorary Pallbearers will be Barrett Vinson, Ben Kelly, Jolton Cox, Douglas Mayes, Jonathan Allen and Evan Womack.
