Mr. Larry Wayne Bentley

Mr. Larry Wayne Bentley, age 73, of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2020.  He was born on May 8, 1947 in Cedartown.  He was the son of the late Virgil Madison and Maggie Sue Ray Bentley.

Mr. Bentley graduated in 1965 from Cedartown High School.  He went to Floyd College and obtained a Business degree, he also served in the United States Air Force from 1967-1969.

Mr. Bentley worked at Fite Wholesale for several years then going to work at Lockheed where he retired from in 2014.  Larry loved working on antique cars.  He could tell you anything about them.  He also enjoyed being with his family and friends, talking (he always had a story to tell) and going to the Great Smokey Mountains, shopping with Angela and going to church.  He was a member of the Cedartown church of Christ.

Mr. Bentley is survived by his daughter, Alicia Bentley Lewis (Billy Joe); granddaughters, Lexie Lewis and Aubree Lewis; great-grandson, Graeson Garcia; nephews, Shannon Bentley and Matt Bentley; and nieces, Tara Blankenship and Sandi Puckett.

Mr. Bentley is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Angela Sheryl Holland Bentley; son, Stephen Jason Bentley and brother, Douglas Bentley.

The funeral arrangements for Mr. Larry Wayne Bentley will be held on Friday, October 9, 2020 at two o’clock in the afternoon at the Cedartown church of Christ with minister Ed Lee and Mr. Bill Lundy officiating.  Interment will follow in the Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the Rockmart American Legion.

The family of Mr. Bentley will receive family and friends on Thursday, October 8, 2020 from six o’clock in the evening until eight o’clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.

In accordance with the guidelines and recommendations set forth by the CDC, social distancing guidelines will be in place as well as the use of masks are required for all services provided for Mr.  Bentley.
