Mr. Donald “Donnie” Jerry Borders, age 65, of Rockmart, GA, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021. He was born on December 28, 1955 in Noblesville, Indiana to his late parents: Raymond and Beatrice McCann Borders. Donnie worked for many years at Wilson Super Store and also at Ingles.
Mr. Borders was a faithful member of Rockmart Church of Christ and loved to go to church on Sundays. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing and gardening in his spare time. Mr. Borders was a loving brother, uncle, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents: Raymond Borders and Beatrice McCann Borders.
Mr. Borders is survived by his sister, Brenda Forsyth of Rockmart, GA, brothers: Ray Borders (Shirley) of Cedartown, GA and Kenneth Borders (Renee) of Rockmart, GA, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. Donald “Donnie” Borders will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Justin Mason officiating. Interment will follow the service at Rockmart Memorial Gardens with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Nicholas Forsyth, John Forsyth, Daniel Forsyth, Kenny Borders, Michael Borders and Mark Forsyth.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, April 23, 2021 from 12:00 PM until the service begins at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that memorial donations be made to Rockmart Church of Christ in loving memory of Mr. Borders.
