Mr. Charles Jerry Short, age 77, of Piedmont, Alabama passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022.
He was born on May 30, 1944 in Mobile, Alabama. He was the son of the late Marron Lonnie and Annie Mae McCary Short.
Mr. Short is survived by his daughter, Derinda Stephens; son, Neil Short (Michelle); sisters, Brenda Short (Sam), Ann Vann (Russ), Susan Lindsey, and Donna Forbes; brother, Carl “Billy” Broome; grandchildren, Coty Short, Jake Benefield, Hannah Peek, Shayla Stephens, Trevor Arrington, and Kaitlyn Elaina Arrington; great-grandchildren, Jay Benefield, Easton Benefield, Bayer Benefield, Foster Pruitt, and Chandler Fennell; and special friends, Josh and Shannon Easterwood.
Mr. Short is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Frances Louise Golden; and granddaughter, Ala Olivia Benefield.
The funeral arrangements for Mr. Charles Jerry Short will held on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at three o’clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Floyd officiating. Interment will follow in the New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family of Mr. Short will receive family and friends on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 from six o’clock in the evening until eight o’clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Ricky Plunk, Josh Easterwood, Jake Benefield, Derrick Lankford, Trevor Arrington, Keith Vann, Richard Corn, and Chris Brown. Honorary pallbearer will be Coty Short.
