Ms. Michelle Leighann Simmons, age 48 of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024.
She was born on January 9, 1976 in Rome, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Walter Ira Simmons, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Wilson Simmons.
Michelle was a loving mother, sister, and friend. She spent many years working as a CNA at nursing homes and loved helping others.
Ms. Simmons is survived by her daughter, Mia Simmons; brother, Walter Ira Simmons, Jr. (Buddy); nephew, Dylan Simmons; uncles and aunts, Joe and Patricia Spencer, Diana Peugh, and Cindy and Rod Simmons.
Ms. Simmons is preceded in death by her parents; paternal grandparents, Herbert and Myrty Simmons; and maternal grandparents, Bowser and Ruth Wilson.
The funeral arrangements for Ms. Simmons will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at one o’clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Dr. DeWayne New officiating. Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery.
The family of Ms. Simmons will receive family and friends on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 from six o’clock in the evening until eight o’clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Dylan Simmons, Rod Simmons, Dee Pruitt, Jeff Adams, Scott O’Neal, and Jimmy Crawford. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Adams, Jack McElwee, Jody Barker, Ryan Boyd, Tim Watson, Leroy Peugh, and Richie Haney.
