Ricky Leray Chambers

A man was denied bond on multiple charges after he was arrested on warrants and found with a baggie of drugs in his pocket.

When deputies with the Polk County Sheriffs Office went to serve warrants on Ricky Leray Chambers, 57, of a Rockmart address, on warrants for his arrest on theft by taking and burglary charges, Chambers was searched and found to have drugs in his pocket during his Thanksgiving morning arrest.

When asked what the baggie of drugs were in his pocket, Chambers was reported to have told officers it was “meth.”

Chamber was taken onward to the Polk County Jail and remained there with bond denied on felony charges of possession of methamphetamine, second degree burglary, a parole violation and a misdemeanor charge of theft by taking.

The warrants he was initially being sought on were taken out by the Rockmart Police Department.

Chambers has remained in custody since November 23.
