A beloved local educator in the Polk School District is back home after spending months recovering in the hospital.
She told her friends on Facebook that she is working hard to get her life back after she underwent treatment following surgery, and thanked everyone for the well wishes and support she’s had from her colleagues, students and friends at Cedartown Middle School, throughout Polk School District and the community as a whole.
“All of your messages, videos and homecoming greeting brought me to tears and lifted my spirits beyond measure,” she wrote on a post on June 17.
In recent days when she returned home from the hospital, people lined up around Mundy’s Lake in Cedartown to greet her as she came into town.
Welch added in her post that her recovery continues, and asked for the community to continue to reach out in prayer.
