Want to celebrate Mother Nature on Earth Day? There’s an opportunity to take part in an upcoming hike later this month.

Mark the calendar for April 22, 2024 and join fellow hikers and organizers from Keep Polk Beautiful for their Earth Day Hike at the Potts Hollow Trailhead at 5:45 p.m. for a hike on the Pinhoti and a Trail Cleanup.

The evening hike is being organized by Jesse Cook, who can provide more information by phone or text at 770-546-6093.

April is Litter Awareness Month as well, and Keep Polk Beautiful hopes that you’ll take part in efforts to help with cleanups this month.

This Saturday’s Great American Cleanup is also an opportunity to help. It’s being held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Seaborn Jones Park in Rockmart and at the Peeks Park tennis courts in Cedartown as rallying points.
