Kathleen Parker West, a beloved life-long member of the Church of God of the Union Assembly, has gracefully departed from this world on February 11, 2024, in Rome, GA. Born on May 1, 1939, in Summerville, GA, Kathleen spent her years touching the lives of those around her with her unwavering faith, kindness, and zest for life.

Kathleen dedicated many years of her professional life to Renaissance Marquis before embracing retirement. Her commitment and passion in the workplace were truly remarkable and served as an inspiration to all who had the pleasure of working alongside her.

Kathleen’s true joys in life were found outside of her career. She had an array of hobbies and interests that brought immense delight to her days. She found solace in attending church services, which nourished her spirituality and allowed her to connect deeply with her beliefs. Additionally, she enjoyed her time fishing, engaging challenges through various puzzles, and embarked on countless adventures traveling to both the beautiful beaches and breathtaking mountains.

Around Kathleen’s warm heart was always a circle of family and friends whom she cherished dearly. She reunited with her late father, John William Searles, and mother Jessie Mae Searles in eternal peace. Together they have left behind a legacy that will continue to resonate throughout generations.

Kathleen is survived by Lance West, her loving husband who was by her side through life’s triumphs and tribulations. Kathleen also leaves behind a beautiful family who will forever cherish their memories together. Her daughters Wendy (Gerardo) Castillo, Sheila (Walter) Watkins, Charlotte (Keith) Lentz, Kim West, Katie West, Kacie West hold dear the moments shared with their beloved mother who nurtured them with unconditional love throughout their lives. Her sons Thomas Parker, Ernest Parker, Jimmy (Christie) Parker stand as a testament to her legacy, carrying forward the values she instilled in them. Kathleen’s brother, Jack Searles, along with 31 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also mourns her loss.

In honor of Kathleen’s extraordinary life, her loved ones invite all those touched by her genuine spirit to attend the visitation on February 13, 2024, at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home. The visitation will be held between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM where memories will be shared, and hearts will pay tribute to the incredible woman that Kathleen was.

A funeral service to celebrate Kathleen’s life will take place on February 14, 2024, at The Church of God of the Union Assembly Polk with Pastor Jesse Starnes officiating. The service will commence at 2:00 PM providing an opportunity for family and friends to bid their final farewell and offer condolences. Interment will follow in Live Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include Joseph Stringer, Nick Lentz, Noah Lentz, Thomas Lentz, Rick Bruce, Jackson Parker, and Zachary Freeman. Elijah Williams will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

During this time of mourning and reflection, may we find solace in the fact that Kathleen’s kindness lives on through each person she touched. Her unwavering dedication to her faith, commitment to her family & friends, and unwavering love will forever remain an inspiration to us all.
