Get ready to enjoy an afternoon with some local artists who are showing off their work this winter in the Rockmart Cultural Arts Center’s annual Juried Art Show.
The reception for the artists participating is open to the public and is coming up this Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 4 to 6 p.m.
Along with a list of local artists (see below,) this year will feature music from the trio of Kelly Dees with Ron Cline and Rodney Fields. Refreshments will also be available.
The 2023 show is themed around “Artists Choice” and includes five categories for Atlanta fine artist and this year’s judge Shane McDonald will get to award artists locally and from around Northwest Georgia.
More than $1,000 will be given away in prizes to artists.
This year’s show includes artwork from Peri Aplin, Phil Aplin, Cindy Barrow, Bruce Bell, Pat Boling, Kathy Borchelt, Cathy Brooks, Lura Camp, Mary Cash, Chantelle Chapman, Dominique Chaponot, Peggy Cline, Meghan Cohran, Beverly Culver, Sheena Dickerson, Susan Gore Gardner, Cooper Gibson, Trudie Goss, Kathy Hall, Rene’ Hardy, Dana Helton, Wendy Herubin, James Hill, Patty Hiller, Amanda Hogan, Hillari Knight, Donna Leonard, Rhonda Mihalik, Elizabeth Mobley, Margie Monde, Roy Moon, Janet Newton, Mike Ramy, Michael Sawecki, Lee Simpkins, Stella Spyrou, Myra Stephenson, Kathy Torres, Leslie Tykeya, Patty Ward, Susan D. Waters, Jen W. Fugelsoe, Randy Wenzel, Darren Wright, and Debi Zuker
The show began on January 12, and will be on display for the public through March 9. The public is encouraged to come to the Rockmart Art Gallery to also help decide with a vote in the People’s Choice category.
The gallery is located in the J.L. Ellis City Complex on North Piedmont Avenue in Rockmart. Those who want to visit the gallery can stop by during regular hours on Tuesdays from 1 to 7 p.m., and Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. or by appointment for group tours.
