Ms. Joni Diane Costlow, age 43, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Sunday afternoon, May 12, 2024, following a brief illness.
Joni was born in Cartersville, GA on December 16, 1980, daughter of Elizabeth Kiser Costlow and the late Curtis Dale Costlow.
She was a person of tremendous determination, recognizing her goals, she would strive diligently to obtain them.
Joni had a great love for her family and enjoyed cooking, especially if the result was time together with family and friends.
She enjoyed the beach as well as the mountains, both represented fun and adventure.
Joni was a graduate of Cass High School and was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church. She was employed with the Bartow County School System where she enjoyed her interactions with the students.
In addition to her father, Joni was preceded in death by her step-grandmother, Sandra Gail Campbell Costlow.
Joni is survived by her companion of 12 years, Dustin Runyon; children, Caleb (Timberly) Arnold of the Fish Creek community, and Addison Runyon, Chelsea Runyon and Olivia Runyon, all of Rockmart; mother, Elizabeth Costlow of Taylorsville, GA; brother, Chris (Rebekah) Costlow of Aragon, GA; grandfather, Loyd Neil Costlow, Sr. of Taylorsville; grandmother, Barbara Green Sanders; nieces, Emily Costlow and Gemma Schrader. Several aunts and uncles also survive.
Funeral services for Joni will be held on Thursday afternoon, May 16, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church with Rev. Brent Edwards and Rev. Tony Lyle officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Joni’s family will receive friends Wednesday evening, May 15, 2024, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will include Caleb Arnold, Chris Costlow, Dustin Runyon, Eric Forsyth, Frank Forsyth and Clint Forsyth.
