The death of a Cedartown man is still under investigation, but as of yet no arrests have been made following the third day since a late night shooting on Central Street.

Demetrious Brown, 38, was found by police having been shot and died on the scene from his wounds around 11:30 p.m. on Monday, May 10. So far, his killer or killers remain at-large.

Earlier this evening, Cedartown Police Chief Jamie Newsome said work is still underway on the case, but had no new information to share.



“CPD and GBI are still actively working the case,” Newsome said just after 6 p.m. “They’re still working the case right now.”

No reports of an arrest or of suspects being actively sought for Brown’s murder. He was found shot and killed on the scene late Monday night around 11:30 p.m. after Cedartown Police arrived on the Central Street scene.
