An initiative to get vaccinations out into the community at-large is underway at local industries, thanks to the efforts of the Development Authority of Polk County and Floyd Medical Center.

The DAPC is working with the hospital in Rome to bring nurses, equipment and doses of the vaccine to local industries like The HON Company, who hosted a first-round dose for employees on April 15.

They’ll come back in several weeks time to administer the second round for those who participated in the clinic, held on-site for employees so they could return to work after a short break to ensure they have no adverse reaction from the dose.

Those industry leaders who want to bring vaccination clinics to their employees can contact the DAPC’s April Lucas to learn about scheduling a clinic, or even getting several organizations together to host.

Vaccinations are available in the community at several locations, including Polk Medical Center. Visit this page to learn more about how to get a vaccination scheduled. The next clinic is coming up on May 1.
