Note: Look for me to reprise my previous volunteer role as Winnie the Pooh this September. Fortunately, they are waiting until later in the month when maybe it will be cooler out. – KtE

The calendar is beginning to return to some normalcy following a year of COVID-19 cancellations, with one family-friendly event returning in September coming up.

Save the date for September 18 when the Holloway Hunny Pot Festival is being held on the third Saturday of the month to Big Spring Park in Cedartown, featuring a variety of activities for all ages planned.

The second edition of this festival – soon-to-be annual status following a cancellation in 2020 – promises to provide an exhibit honoring the voice of Winnie the Pooh and Cedartown native Sterling Holloway (thanks to Holloway friend and advocate of his memory Donnie Jarrell) along with a honey dipper race the Big Spring, vendors and more.

Plans this year also include live music, the Lil Miss and Lil Mister Hunny Pot Pageant, and more.

Those interested in being a vendor can contact Aimee Madden at amadden@cedartowngeorgia.gov, or call 770-748-3220.

Also, think about filling out this vendor application as well.

Check out this previous item from Sterling Holloway’s birthday back in January.
