‘Tis the season to start buying local.

On Saturday, that’s the reason why the Rockmart Cultural Arts Center hosted the Holiday Art Market, allowing a variety of local and area artists and craftspeople to gather to give patrons the chance to buy something handmade for a loved one.

More than a dozen vendors were on hand for the Saturday event that spanned all three floors of the Rockmart Cultural Arts Center, and there’s still artwork hanging on the walls for sale through December.

Proceeds benefit local artists, and a percentage goes toward the Rockmart Cultural Arts Center to help cover the costs of running the gallery.

Along with artists, live music was enjoyed through the afternoon and early evening event, refreshments were provided and Jolly Ole St. Nick showed up to make an appearance and take photos with young and old.
