Highland Rivers’ Workforce Connect partners with The Dixie Group to advance recovery friendly workplace initiative

DALTON — Highland Rivers Behavioral Health is proud to announce a new partnership with The Dixie Group, Inc. as part of the agency’s Workforce Connect program Recovery Friendly Workplace (RFW) initiative.

A manufacturer of carpets and rugs for high-end residential customers, the Dalton-based Dixie Group has pledged to train all upper management on RFW principles and best practices while also educating frontline employees on administering Naloxone, a lifesaving medication that reverses opioid overdoses.

More than 100 Dixie Group employees have completed this vital training, underscoring the company’s commitment to safety, well-being, and community impact.

This initiative has already proven to have a far-reaching influence – after each session employees often ask how to refer others to resources – highlighting the need for supportive networks not only within the workplace but also throughout the community.

“Our employees come first,” said a staff member from The Dixie Group. “This means their families, their communities, and ultimately, the broader goal of saving lives.”

The Recovery Friendly Workplace program is designed to create a safe and understanding environment for individuals in recovery, to reduce stigma around substance use, and to connect workplaces with essential resources.

By participating in RFW, companies like The Dixie Group foster a work culture that supports employees’ health and growth, strengthens families, and actively contributes to the safety and well-being of the greater community. With every training session, Workforce Connect and The Dixie Group are creating a ripple effect that reaches families, neighbors, and the community, building a healthier, more resilient workforce and region.
