
Hazel White, age 98 passed away on April 29, 2025 in Charlotte after a short illness.
Hazel was born May 21,1926 in Tallassee, Alabama to the late William G. Marlow and Velma Thomas Marlow.
Her husband Sgt. E6 Comer D. White preceded her in death on May 1974 and is buried in Cedartown, Georgia.
A career Army man he served 21 years in service and fought in both World War II and the Korean Conflict.
Hazel left a family of one daughter, Dianne Brenda Mills of Charlotte, North Carolina and one son, Royce Wayne White of Dewey Rose, Georgia. Two granddaughters Meredith Mills of Charlotte, North Carolina and Sharon Smith married to Josuha Smith of Buffalo, New York. Grandson Kevin Mills and his wife Jessica Mills of Los Angeles, California, and a great grandson Harvey Mills.
In her youth she attended high school in Cedartown, Georgia and attended Manatee Jr. College in Bradenton, Florida. She was also a graduate of Florida Trust School in Gainesville, Florida.
After working in trust banking for years, she opened her own business as a Personal Services Estate Guardian and Trust representative in Florida before retiring to Charlotte. She was a member of the University City United Methodist Church of Charlotte.
She belonged to Red Hats, the MHA Historical Society, University City Women’s Club of Charlotte, Good Times Club at United Methodist Church of Charlotte and served as a docent at Rosedale Historical Society.
Services will be held in Cedartown, GA on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at ten o’clock in the morning in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow in the family of the Greenwood Cemetery.
