Please welcome a new store to downtown Cedartown that is a bit off the norm for these parts.
Harris Skate Supply officially opened to the public on Saturday, and is now the premiere spot locally to grab your skating supplies if you’re dedicated as much as owner Jason Harris is to the sport.
Harris, who has throughout his life kept up his love for skateboarding after a semi-professional career in his youth, decided now was the time to get into the business of offering up quality supplies to local enthusiasts like himself as skateboarding grows in popularity.
He added that it helps that a skatepark already exists in Rockmart, and with a newly opened option in Rome that the opportunity is there for people to get involved in the sport and thus come stop by his store for their needs.
You can buy everything you need to put together a skateboard at Harris Skate Supply: wheels, axles and decks all can be purchased separately at the new store on West Avenue, and it is the closest store dedicated strictly to skating supplies in the immediate area, Harris said.
He added the closest place that those who take their boards seriously is in Douglasville.
For now, he’s hoping to see interest in the business grow after he opened officially on Saturday in the small storefront attached to the back of Remix at Moore’s.
Visit 402 B Main St (technically accessible from West Avenue) to check out Harris Skate Supply, and purchase a raffle spot now for a fully decked out Santa Cruz screaming hands skateboard. Entries are $5 each. Entries are being taken until the raffle drawing on June 21.
Check out the Harris Skate Supply Facebook page for more on hours and to call to see what they have available in store.
The store celebrated its grand opening on Saturday, and Remix at Moore’s participated as well offering sales on items for Mother’s Day.
