The Haralson County Sheriff’s Office nabbed several individuals in arrests over the weekend during a DUI and driver check in the southern half of the county near the Waco and Buncombe communities.

At least seven were arrested, and multiple tickets issued by the HCSO and the Georgia State Patrol in the weekend while operating the checkpoint this weekend.

This weekend, the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office conducted Operation Zero Tolerance along with the Georgia State Patrol. The operation to protect citizens from impaired drivers was conducted on Highway 27 and in the southern part of the county in and around the I-20 corridor including the Buncombe and Waco communities. Multiple citations were written including Georgia Super Speeder and Georgia Move Over Law violations. A total of seven arrests were made including drug and DUI arrests. In one of the drug arrests, 26 baggies of marijuana were seized.

Sheriff Stacy Williams says “People speeding through our county, bringing drugs into our county or those driving impaired are a danger to our citizens. Our job is to make the citizens of Haralson County safe, that is why we do this. We will be continuing to partner with the Georgia State Patrol and we will continue to have these operations throughout our county in our efforts to keep out citizens safe”.
