Halloween Hoopla returns with Scarecrow contest starting soon

The Polk County Chamber of Commerce is gearing up the time of year when things turn spooky with the 2020 Halloween Hoopla set to start in coming weeks.

The annual celebration is back with the first event in the series, the 2020 Polk County Chamber of Commerce Scarecrow Contest.

Executive Director Blair Elrod is encouraging participants to display their one-of-a-kind scarecrow outside their business starting on September 14 and continuing through October 31 in the family-friendly contest that is taking place all across the county.

For those hoping to win an award, judging will take place on Sept. 14. Trophies will be awarded for First, Second and Third Place in Polk County.

For more information about how to participate and the rules, e-mail Elrod at info@polkgeorgia.com. Entries must be submitted by e-mail, and those participating must have their scarecrow out by the morning of Sept. 14 to be considered.
