The blessings continued on Monday for local youth who need help before the school year starts getting supplies they need, but also in ensuring they look their best when heading back to class on Thursday.

F.H.F. Hair Design gathered together donated supplies, setup booths in businesses neighboring businesses for Ferst Readers, rock painting and face painting, and much more during the August 5 Back to School event.

This year’s event had many waiting in line for the opportunity at a free haircut, getting a bookbag of supplies to carry back to Polk School District campuses.

School Haircut Day this year was organized by F.H.F. Hair Design and Big Springs Village, with sponsorship help from GFL Environmental, Huddle House, Home Depot, Ferst Readers and McDonald’s. The HON Company also provided free hot dogs for youth this afternoon.

Sun Kissed Tanning Salon also offered up their space for face painting.

This was the 14th annual School Haircut Day hosted by F.H.F. Hair Design.
