Price, Blackwood both out on property bonds

Two former employees of the Polk County Water Authority were briefly held in custody on Wednesday evening and released on property bonds after being indicted on several counts by the Grand Jury here in Polk County.

Alisa Jill Price, 55, of a Cedartown address and Allison Danielle Blackwell, 46, of a Silver Creek address, were both taken into custody around 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22 and released after booking after the pair were indicted jointly and separately on several counts on Tuesday, March 21.

They jointly are facing felonies for theft by taking, theft by deception and making a false statement, and each also have a counts against them for the same charges, totaling nine counts in the indictment in total.

The indictments allege that Price and Blackwell were involved in theft from the Polk County Water Authority from January 2016 through May 2019. The amount of money taken from the Water Authority wasn’t specified to the grand jurors, but it was over $25,000 in value per the indictments.

Further allegations made in the counts include the falsification of falsifying information that allowed both Price and Blackwell to be paid for “personal leave, vacation leave, “comp-time,” and non-payroll related compensation” over which they were lawfully entitled.

The false statement counts came after the pair were accused of having “willfully make a false representation to the Polk County Water Authority in connection with compensation related matters, to-wit, the amount of personal leave, vacation leave, additional payroll, overtime pay, and non-payroll related compensation…”

The pair were both released after they were booked. They are out on $20,000 property bonds.
