A golf tournament initially organized to help raise money for medical care for Sgt. Barry Henderson instead brought in money to contribute to his family thanks to the efforts of a local man who wanted to help.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office shared the results of the golf tournament on Friday via Facebook along with their thanks to Kyle Pinkard and additional volunteers and donors who helped make the outing happen.

Chrisy Henderson, wife of Sgt. Barry Henderson who died following a months-long fight with COVID-19, was also on hand to share her thanks as well.

I would like to thank all the people that played in our Sgt. Barry Henderson Memorial Golf tournament today. We were overwhelmed with the generosity of the people that played and helped in the tournament. A big shout out to Kyle Pinkard, his sweet wife, and son for helping put on this great event. Congratulations to all the winners of the tournament, raffles and prize holes.

I would also like to thank Live Wire in Cedartown for the donation of an awesome gas grill, Home Depot and Walmart for their donations, Travis Kendrick’s donation of a handmade American Flag cutting board, and Kyle Pinkard for his donation of some Braves Memorabilia. We also had many people and companies to sponsor this golf tournament and I would like to thank all of them for their generous sponsorship.

We had some great BBQ for lunch provided by “His Cuisine Barbecue and Catering.” Some of the best barbecue I’ve had in a long time!We had a great day, lots of fun and raised a lot of money for Chrisy Henderson. I know I probably left someone out that helped today and I apologize if I did.

God bless you all for everything!
