It might not look like it, but the sign says it all: the roundabout at Piedmont Highway and Canal Street is almost done.
Polk County’s first roundabout intersection is set to be completed by March 10 – at least per signage around the intersection posted by GDOT Contractors completing the work.
Work has remained steady at the intersection through the past months preparing to turn it from a four-way stop into a roundabout, allowing traffic to flow via yields into the intersection and around to their turn or straight through to access Canal Street, Adamson Street, the Hwy. 100 Cutoff and Piedmont Highway to the west.

Work has been intermittent over the past weeks due to weather conditions, but warmer temps have given contractors the chance to get toward the finish line for the coming days.
Check back for updates as they become available.
