The breakfast market in the area around the corner of East Avenue and Main Street is set to heat up in the coming months with the addition of another player to an already crowded portion of Cedartown.

The wood is stacking up on the work site as foundations have been completed for the new Ellianos Coffee going up in the downtown area. The work on the site began in recent weeks more than a year after the site was purchased next to Regions Bank by Ellianos franchisee Frank Phillips.

Once the framing is done, it won’t take too long for contractors to put on an outer shell, finish out the interior and complete the parking lot. If the weather remains fair and no major delays are hit, expect the new location to be completed in the next few months.

It’ll be joining just in the immediate area several popular breakfast spots well established in Cedartown. Those include Bojangles just across the street, Waffle House two doors up, Huddle House a few door down and McDonald’s all in the immediate area.

The project is just one of the latest new construction of commercial businesses in growing regional chains. Jack’s is also building just a few blocks north at the corner of North Main and West Fairmount, and Chick-fil-A opened this spring on Highway 27 North.

Ellianos is growing in the metro Atlanta and Northwest Georgia area. This will be their second location in Polk County, with one already operating in Rockmart.
