The City of Cedartown is getting ready for Peek Park to get a lot of traffic over the summer months, especially with the weather turning hot and local youth and families needing a place to cool off.

Look no further than the Peek Park fountain returning in the coming days just in time for the first Summer Concert Series event happening on June 5.

In fact, the upcoming opening day is this Friday, May 28 ahead of the Memorial Day holiday.

The City posted about the work being done to prepare the fountain on their Facebook page on Tuesday and included a reminder about the rules for the fountain to ensure that it Is able to operate all summer without the need for shutdowns and repairs.

City officials operate the fountain in Peek Park on a seasonal basis.

If all goes as planned, the fountain will be on Friday morning at 11 a.m.

PARENTS: Please supervise your children at all times while they are playing in the fountain.

The fountain is also scheduled to run during the season opener of the !!FREE!! Peek Park Summer Concert Series on June 5. (Concert features Southland Soul and begins at 7 p.m.) Food is available for purchase during the concert from Rudy’s and Bulldawgs Gourmet Hot Dogs.

Normal fountain hours are: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., 1:45 – 2:45 p.m., 3:30 – 4:30 p.m., and 5 – 8 p.m.
