Anyone who wants to show their patriotic spirit can still make it out to the area in front of the Det. Kristen Hearne Public Safety Complex just outside of Cedartown along Highway 278 and join others already there.
The family friendly event continues until 5 p.m. and flags are available for those who don’t bring one of their own.
Candidates in the GOP Primary like Boyd Austin were also on hand for the event, as well as County Commissioner Linda Liles.
Sheriff Johnny Moats said previously he organized the event as a way to celebrate the American flag. State flags and the Thin Blue Line flags are also on display and acceptable.
No open carry is being allowed. The event is not being held ad a protest of any kind.
The Sheriff’s Office also brought out their American flag themed Humvee for the patriotic display.
