Mrs. Fandrick Jane Jolly Smith

Mrs. Fandrick Jane Jolly Smith, age 77 of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, February 16, 2024 surrounded by family.

She was born on March 12, 1946 in Rome, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Fredrick Willard Jolly and Gladys Lanham Jolly.

After graduation from Shorter College with her Bachelor’s degree, she went on to complete her Master’s degree in Middle Grades Education at West Georgia College. She taught 7th grade Life Science at Cedartown Middle School until her retirement in 2017. She touched thousands of lives through her teaching. She was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She dedicated her life to her family, career, and community.

She enjoyed reading, listening to rock music, and caring for her pet cats and spiders. Much of her free time was spent with her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Smith is survived by nine children, Andrea Jane Smith Marangakis (John), Melanie Lisa Smith Hopkins, George Thurston Smith, Jr., Toy Michelle Smith Bell (Brad), Danielle Hope Smith Hill (Ronald), Elena Wynn Cubillo (Gerardo), Jason Micah Smith, Sr., Maya Jael Smith, and Joshua Paul Smith (Brandi); eleven grandchildren, Ashley Leanne Hopkins, Gabrielle Jane Despina Marangakis Vickers (Andrew), Michael Dean Underwood, John George Marangakis, Rachel Michelle Bell, Dakotah Wynn Cubillo, Luis Gerardo Thurston Cubillo, Jason Micah Smith, Jr., Joshua Edmond Hayes, Jr., Tilden Ruan Hayes, and Emmi July Blake Smith; and seven great-grandchildren, Sophia, Bransyn, Michael, Wren, Raelyn, Hazel, and Nolan.

Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Thurston Smith, Sr.; daughter, Leona Rae Smith; granddaughter, Leirein Jael Hayes and daughter in law, Cynthia Martin Smith.

The funeral service for Mrs. Fandrick Jane Jolly Smith will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at eleven o’clock in the morning from the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Brother John Toftum officiating.

The family of Mrs. Smith will receive family and friends on Monday, February 19, 2024 from five o’clock in the afternoon until eight o’clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.
