An 11Alive report cited that a former Rockmart band director has been jailed after having an inappropriate relationship with a former student.

Craig Dean Godfrey was arrested on charges of aggravated child molestation, sexual exploitation of a child and obscene telephone contact by the Acworth Police Department in Cobb County. According to the story, his relationship began in 2016 and continued through 2019. The student who he was in a relationship with is now an adult.

He was serving as the band director at North Cobb Christian, and formerly was at Rockmart High School.
