Note: I am not specifically endorsing any candidate for office during this round of the primaries, and will not be accepting any endorsement press releases from candidates specifically. However, at the request of local officials who wish to provide an endorsement on their own for one candidate or another in either of the two races for the 14th District Congressional Race, or the 31st District State Senate race, I will place them on the site for readers to see. I just ask that voters who are able to please go cast their ballot and participate in the process. -Kevin the Editor.
The following endorsement was provided by Polk County Sheriff Johnny Moats:
With over 20 years serving northwest Georgia in law enforcement, I know the importance of having a congressman who is attentive to the needs of public safety. It is vital northwest Georgians choose a representative who shares our values and understands the needs of first responders. That’s why, along with nine other sheriffs across the 14th District, I’m supporting the one candidate who can do the job right: Dr. John Cowan.
John is a longtime supporter of local law enforcement officers who has provided volunteer medical services to his hometown sheriff’s department. As a reserve deputy, John understands and respects the challenges faced by those on the frontlines. He’ll take to Congress that passion for serving and protecting our people.
I am proud to support John Cowan as our next congressman, and I encourage Polk County voters to join me in voting for him.
