The Downtown Cedartown Association announced results last week of the annual Scarecrow Contest in downtown last week, naming the victors as Matt Foster’s Eighth Grade, fourth period scarecrow entry as the winner.
Their Henry VIII depiction including the head of his wife Anne Boleyn was the winner for this year, followed in second place by the Polk County Board of Commissioners and Finance Department’s entry – more traditional in style – and third place went to the New Hope Fellowship Children’s Ministry.
Entries came from a variety of businsses, families and organizations this year. One that stood out on Main Street was the King Family’s Beetlejuice scarecrow on a bench, and the Polk County Tax Commissioner’s all-tag based entry on West Avenue in front of the office this year.
Check out all the entries in the slideshow and congrats to winners this year of the 2021 Scarecrow contest in downtown Cedartown.
They’ll remain up through the rest of the month and through the first weekend of November, when the annual Market on Main festival returns downtown.
