Mr. Eddie Clyde Mcswain, age 87, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024.
Mr. Mcswain was born in Shannon, Georgia, on October 24, 1936, to his late parents Mr. Eugene Mcswain and Mrs. Frances Mcswain.
Mr. Mcswain was a giver. If anyone was in need, he was always willing to help them. He had a passion for missions and reaching others. He demonstrated this by taking many mission trips to Peru, Alaska, and Ecuador.
He was a member of Edon Baptist Church and also regularly attended Bible study groups at Trinity Baptist Church. In addition to serving others in these ways, he was a member of the Floyd County Rotary Club. His impact on the lives of others is truly immeasurable. He loved bluegrass music and spending time with his family most of all. He leaves a legacy of generosity and compassion that will be cherished by his family for years to come.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Mcswain was preceded in death by his son, Stanley Hester; and siblings: Betty Jackson, Troy Mcswain, Raymond Mcswain, and Charles Mcswain.
Mr. Mcswain is survived by his children, Sonya Alday and her husband, Buck, Raiden Hester, and Penny Turner; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
