EASTER SALE! Prices lowered ahead of 1st Polk Today Subscriber Egg Hunt

Happy Holy Week Polk County!

This is the time of year when we celebrate rebirth in nature as the chill of winter (we hope) finally fades away and the spirit is rejuvenated as the sun comes out and people get busy again.

This is also that time of year where kids get to load up on chocolate and gift baskets, and enjoy the controlled chaos of Egg Hunts. Isn’t that the kind of fun you miss out on as an adult? Let’s see if I can do something about that this week, at least for subscribers here on the site.

I’m happy to announce that starting Monday, prices for subscriptions will be lowered for our first-ever Polk Today Subscriber Egg Hunt!

As of the evening hours of Sunday night, prices were lowered for a two-day subscription at $1.29, followed by 7-day access down to $2.09, two week access will drop to $3.09, and quarterly, semi-annual and annual pricing will decrease to $10, $20, and $50 for the week. Those prices will go back to normal no later than April 10, 2023 at 8 a.m.

(Note: Monthly subscriptions will unfortunately remain at $4.99, due to an issue with the software Polk Today uses to run that particular area of the site. That will be one of the several areas I’ll be addressing this summer amid general infrastructure updates in July.)

You’ll need to grab a subscription (it may be a good idea to get the seven-day access) if you want to get the daily clue for claiming several of the prize Easter Eggs that we’re going to be spreading around Polk County over the coming days.

Here’s what you’ll need to know about that:

Starting at Monday at noon, we’ll be posting a clue as the first of seven subscriber-only posts that you’ll have to solve. The correct answer will give you the location to claim one of 10 prize eggs that I’ll be taking to public spots or participating local businesses across Polk County.

The clues will be posted based on A) When I can get out to hide the egg and B) based on hours of operation for certain of the locations that will be the answer to the clues.

MOST OF THESE LOCATIONS ARE PUBLIC SPACES. Don’t expect it to be easy to find either way in at least… five of the seven spots. You’ll need to talk to a person for two of the eggs.

Remember, this is all in good fun. I hope that you’ll consider picking up one of these lower-price subscriptions in order to enjoy full access to Polk Today in the coming days, weeks, months and potentially over the next year.

Here are some ground rules:

*** YOU MUST BE AT LEAST A TWO-DAY SUBSCRIBER TO CLAIM AN EGG. ***

IF you are able to claim the egg before any other subscriber participants, you’ll be required to send a picture of said egg and the card within, along with your username, to polktoday@gmail.com.

YOU CAN ONLY WIN ONCE. ANY ADDITIONAL EGGS YOU FIND WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.

YOU MUST BE 18 YEARS OR OLDER TO CLAIM AN EGG.

FAILURE to provide those details forfeits your right to the prize.

Contestants who take part will agree to only visit a location within posted business hours of any place that agrees to host an egg.

*** At least one of the seven eggs will include an annual subscription. Subscribers who are already annual subscribers will be able to claim the prize, but will either get an extension of their time when their annual subscription runs out, or can use it for a gift to a friend or family member to enjoy subscriber access to Polktoday.com. ***

Winners may agree to have their name shared with the community in a post congratulating their prize.

The spirit of this contest is to have fun, and thus those who post answers to the clues on social media platforms before an egg is claimed are ruining that fun for everyone. Thus, that egg’s prize will be forfeited for all.

PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL OF THOSE WHO WANT TO ENJOY THE EGG HUNT.

Don’t break any traffic laws, criminal violations or get into any kind of dangerous trouble in a quest to get an egg.

And finally, NO CASH PRIZES WILL BE PART OF THIS EGG HUNT.

** Monthly subscribers who win a free month will be reimbursed for the current month when their access is normally billed. Additional time (3 months or more) will be added by closing the monthly subscription, but it will be paused until the access time made available via the prize has been completed and can be reinstated afterward.

Now that’s all out of the way, I wish you all good luck and a Happy Easter Week!
