The pace was steady this morning for the Easter Bunny giving away baskets to youth thanks to a local man keeping a promise to his mom.

Frankie Morris lost his mom back in September, but after she helped give out Easter baskets ahead of the spring holiday in 2020, he was more determined than ever to ensure that he was able to give out double the amount of he did last year.

Morris had 1,044 baskets he began to provide to youth in the community this morning, March 27.

He got all of the items to put inside for free, and the effort to put the baskets together for this Saturday took weeks and filled up rooms at the Aragon Historical Society, where the event was held.

Morris gave away more than 500 baskets in 2020, and began providing help to the community during the holiday season of 2019.

He hadn’t determined if he’d be back in 2022 or not.

Easter 2021 is coming up on Sunday, April 4. Check back for more on upcoming events through holy week coming up.
