Want to get a ballot cast ahead of time for the 2024 local and state primary election? Today is the first day that voters can get into the polls before the May 21 election day.
The Goodyear Civic Center in Cedartown and the Nathan Dean Community Center in Rockmart both opened their doors this morning at 8 a.m. for the start of early voting.
Both facilities will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays for the next three weeks to allow for voters to decide who they want on the November ballot ahead of election day.
Voters will need to bring a photo ID (driver’s license, identity card, passport) and ensure they are registered to vote before taking part in the 2024 primary. Visit the My Voter Page and enter your info to determine if you’re registered to vote and what precinct you’ll need to visit on Election Day.
This round of early voting will only have one Saturday location open for two weekends, due to scheduling conflicts. The Nathan Dean Community Center in Rockmart at 605 Goodyear Ave. will be hosting Saturday early voting on both weekend dates – May 4 and May 11 – for this round of early voting for the primaries. Times will continue to be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for both Saturday voting dates.
Early voting will continue through Friday, May 17, 2024 ahead of the May 21 primary day.
Voters are being asked to come out and take part in the primary vote for local and state offices. The all-GOP ballot for local offices includes candidates for the District 1 County Commission race, the District 3 County Commission race, District 5 and District 6 Board of Education races, and for County Coroner and County Surveyor.
NOTE: Since all local races are on the GOP ballot, choosing a Democratic ballot will not give you the opportunity to vote for local offices. Please choose the GOP ballot to be able to participate.
The Democratic ballot only contains candidates in the race for the District 14 Congressional seat.
