The Doug Sanders Golf Museum is pleased to announce the kickoff of the first annual Doug Sanders Charity Classic.

On Friday morning, Jamie and Darcy Morris welcomed the first official team to the classic. Olin and Beau Gammage, of Gammage Funeral Home, are the first corporate sponsors of the event and members of the first team to register for the classic.

As the four gathered at the Doug Sanders Golf Museum on Friday morning, stories of pastimes in the Cedartown golfing community and stories of the life of Doug Sanders were shared.

The overall message was simple, Doug cared about people. As the first annual charity classic kicks off, that’s the message that the Morris family is looking to share. The annual classic will aim to provide need-based scholarships to students in the Cedartown community.

Beau Gammage is the director of the 2021 Doug Sanders Charity Classic and together the team is working diligently to create an incredible experience for the competing golfers.

The Doug Sanders Charity classic will be held on May 7, 2021 at the Cherokee Golf and country Club.

Registration is set to begin at 8:00 and golfing will begin at 10:00. The classic will continue to accept sponsorships and team registrations through the month of April.
