Doris Elizabeth Floyd Craddock

Doris Elizabeth Floyd Craddock of Clayton, GA born February 9, 1944, in Cherokee County Centre, AL passed away peacefully on Sunday November 26,2023.

Doris known to friends and family as “Dottie” or “Aunt Dot” graced the lives of many friends and relatives during her life. She loved to laugh and knew how to make even the simplest of days into a playful experience. She was a strong, determined and independent woman, who worked hard and handled life’s many challenges in her own way.

As a young girl, Doris attended Livingston Junior High in Leesburg, AL and Rockmart High School in Rockmart, GA. She attended Massey Business College where she completed several business certificates which guided her to a career in Billing, Inside Sales and Administrative Secretary. For several years she worked for Print Pack in Atlanta, GA and later retired from Atco International in Marietta, GA.

Dottie loved the mountains of North Georgia visiting often. She vowed she would retire in her “beloved mountains.” In the Spring of 2006, she did just that, moving to Clayton the day after her retirement party. She spent her time hiking to waterfalls in the area. She saw the beauty of nature as a splendid picture “God prepared for her enjoyment.”

As we’re her wishes, Dot will be laid to rest at Rabun Memory Park in Clayton, GA on Thursday November 30th at 12 pm. Friends and family are welcome to attend for a brief informal service. A memorial service will be held at County Line Baptist church in Rockmart, GA on December 9, 2023, at 1 pm.
