Convenience centers closing early tomorrow as county mourns the loss of Solid Waste Supervisor Perry Williams

Anyone who needs to take their trash better do so today or early tomorrow or they’ll have to wait until Wednesday as the county mourns the loss of an employee, and convenience centers are set to close early on Tuesday morning.

County officials posted on their Facebook this morning that funeral services are being held for Polk County Solid Waste Supervisor Perry Williams, who passed away over the weekend.

The Convenience Centers countywide will be open from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesday to allow for employees to attend the funeral services.

Here’s an excerpt from the post:

Mr. Williams was an employee of Polk County for 25 years. He also volunteered for over 20 years with the Polk County Fire Department and served as Chief of the Fish Creek Fire Station. Perry was a devoted employee that worked extremely hard and could always bring a smile to your face. He will be missed dearly.
