Floyd is planning two upcoming community COVID-19 vaccination events, the first scheduled for Friday, April 9, at the Rome Community Kitchen at 4 Calhoun Ave. from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. A second event is planned for Tuesday, April 13, from 2 to 5:45 p.m. at West Rome Baptist Church, 914 Shorter Ave. NW.

No registration is required. The one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be given at both locations, so a second shot will not be needed.

Everyone 16 and older in Georgia is eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that 16-year-olds receive the Pfizer vaccine.
