Registration is now open for small businesses to learn how changes in online sales tax laws will impact their businesses, and what they can do now to avoid issues later with the University of Georgia’s Small Business Development Center upcoming webinar.
Registration remains open for the paid online-only education zoom meeting being organized by the SBDC, which is being held on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The goal of the webinar is to help small businesses understand how the state sales tax laws have changed, and help them prepare for upcoming potential shifts in the collections they’ll owe to the Department of Revenue.
“This 1 hour webinar will teach you everything you need to know about collecting Georgia sales tax for your e-commerce business,” the SBDC put out in their event description.
Questions over who needs to collect sales tax, explaining the sales tax nexus and how to register to make payments are all areas covered in the upcoming class later this week. Most importantly, it is specifically tailored for small business owners who primarily conduct the majority of their sales online.
Those who want to participate can register by emailing athens@georgiasbdc.org, and a Zoom link will be emailed once the second step of registration is completed. A zoom account is required to participate.
