Polk County’s FIRST Chick-fil-A Restaurant isn’t even a decade old yet, but is about to get a fresh new look per owner Zach Thomas.

Thomas and staff will be closing down Chick-fil-A Rockmart “sometime on November 27” ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday as they plan to undertake a remodel of the restaurant.

He made the announcement on the CFA Rockmart Facebook page last Friday.

“The purpose of the remodel is to increase efficiency so we can better serve you,” he said. “More details on that to follow.”

The remodel project is expected to take until “late Winter 2025,” Thomas said. He added that “many of the full time members” of his staff will be paid during the closure.

“(There) is money I’ve put aside over the last year and a half or so to take care of (full time employees),” he said. “They’ll be doing some volunteer work in the community – with The City of Rockmart, some nonprofits, some things like that. We’re looking forward to serving the community even while we’re closed.”

After beginning a hiring freeze during the late summer, Thomas said that part timers at the restaurant will have a chance to find new opportunities.

Thomas said more details are to come about the remodel project, but for now wanted to give folks plenty of time to prepare for the forthcoming temporary closure until the project is completed.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the community, for your business and your continued patronage at Chick-fil-A Rockmart,” he said. “We really appreciate your patience and understanding over the next couple of months as we navigate this difficult season for my staff and myself.”

Chick-fil-A of Rockmart celebrated their 7th anniversary this year after opening to Polk County residents in 2017. Thomas opened the location after operating a Marietta-area location for several years prior.

The closure will leave Cedartown’s Chick-fil-A as the closest option for customers in Polk for the time being.
