Nominations are closing out today for those interested in joining the Polk County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, or know someone who would be willing to serve.

“We would love to have you serve in our community,” the Chamber’s announcement on the final day names are being accepted. “Nominees (or their businesses) should be members of the Chamber of Commerce in good standing. Appointments are two years and the board, while voluntary is a working board that strives to bring value to our members.”

Being a Board of Director doesn’t require too much work all things considered. Duties include attending Chamber Board Meetings (every other month), attending Ribbon Cuttings as your schedule allows, active participation in the board to bring value to membership, participation in fundraisers as necessary.

“You are welcome to nominate yourself or another individual,” the release added. “Please send your nominee’s name and the business they are affiliated with to info@polkgeorgia.com with the subject line NOMINEE. Chamber membership will receive a ballot in September to make their selections for board appointments.”
