The Cedartown Women’s Bible Seminar is coming up on Saturday, with a focus on biblical teaching, worship, and more during the free event planned for the Cedartown Performing Arts Center.

The November 14 event from 12 to 4 p.m. is free of charge to participants, and offers the opportunity to enjoy gifts and giveaways during the seminar.

Trixie Morgan will be acting as the host and emcee, with author and speaker Donna Best providing lessons for the day drawn from scripture and her own life lessons.

“Weatherproof Your Home… Against the Storms of Life” comes from Matthew 7:24-27, which provides the teaching from Jesus that like a house built upon sand and expecting it to hold up against rough storms, belief built without following the tenants of the teachings of Jesus in life does not hold true to the faith Christians profess to have.

The goal of the seminar in her view is to help women like herself find joy in a life rooted in faith, but also to find “unity in the body of Christ” and look beyond difference between women and find common ground between each other.

Gifts and giveaways will be provided during the event, along with light refreshments. Doors will open at 11:15 a.m. The first 80 women to participate receive a breakfast biscuit compliments of the Chick-fil-A of Rockmart. A free-will offering will also be received.
