The City of Cedartown posted on their Facebook this morning that upcoming dates for Municipal Court in Cedartown are no longer being held at Polk County Courthouse No. 2, but at the Cedartown Performing Arts Center instead.
Judge Andrew B. Roper will be holding July 24, July 31 and August 7 court dates – unless otherwise noted – will be held at the Cedartown Performing Arts Center at 205 East Ave. instead of the courthouse.
The move is being made “out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our citizens and the officers of the court, and in compliance with guidelines from the State” according to the release.
“This is a temporary move to provide healthy and safe access to the courtroom and to maintain a healthy and safe courtroom for the public and court employees,” the post stated. “The entrance will be located on the Moon Drive side of the Performing Arts Center. There is ample parking on this side of the facility.”
