The Cedartown Commission is back to business for the June regular session coming up on Monday.
Their agenda includes requests for beer licenses from local stores, an ordinance amendment decision, and the first reading of an annexation ordinance being proposed for properties owned by Jojo Homes.
Commissioners will also be taking time out during the meeting to recognize Ralph Wilbanks, a Class I Water and Wastewater Operator for the City who is retiring after 30 years of service with Cedartown.
Dr. John Popham, local optometrist at Popham Eyecare at 206 Main St., Cedartown, has also asked to speak as a delegate before the Commission.
The business of the night includes the annexation first reading for several parcels covering 1.49 acres that will be zoned R-2 once annexed. The area is located within the Philpot Springs subdivision and is being sought alongside Homes by Buildmore Enterpise Services.
The two applications being sought for alcohol sales come from Echo Woods, seeking a beer package license for 101 N. Main St. A beer and wine package license is being sought by Deepesh Pahari at 811 East Ave.
The ordinance amendment pertains to the same issue discussed in the work session over the amount of wastewater discharge is allowed by the treatment plant into Cedar Creek.
