This fall, local dancers are getting the opportunity to show off their talents during the October running of the YellaWood 500 at Talladega Speedway in Alabama, and they are hoping fans from Polk County will make the trip to watch them perform.

The Cedartown Academy of Performing Arts’ junior and senior companies will be taking part in a performance on the NASCAR Midway Main Stage on October 2 during the race this fall.

Owner Denise Johnson said both the companies will get the chance to dance before the crowd, and those who want to attend can get tickets at half price to see the performance before the race.

All the tickets are for Sunday, October 2 and are $60 each with availability left for five rows in Anniston Tower B.

The Cedartown Academy of Performing Arts, located at 423 S. Main St., is taking registration for youth 2 and up (boys and girls) and is hosting an open house on July 24 for those interested. The 1 to 5 p.m. event this year includes opportunities for several dance classes based on each individual’s skill level.
