It was a crowded afternoon and a long wait to see Santa Claus at the Nathan Dean Sports Complex during a free holiday event over the weekend put on by C&B Construction.

The Saturday afternoon event brought out St. Nick, a load of presents and the opportunity to take home a Go-Kart for one lucky winner during the Rockmart Christmas event put on by the local contracting company.

Along with Santa, the company brought out all the stops: inflatables, food trucks, a DJ, the National Guard with a Humvee display and even a C&B Christmas train for youth and their parents to ride.

Hundreds waited in line just to get in the event through the afternoon, and then waited again in line to see Santa Claus and the opportunity to get holiday photos taken by a professional photographer.

It was the first year the event was held in Rockmart, not long after C&B Construction took part in the Rockmart Christmas Parade last week on Thursday, December 8.
