Update:

A search for just over an hour in Cedartown tonight for a 14-year-old mentally disabled boy ended with no harm coming to the young man and being reunited with his mother without issue.

According to emergency officials, the young man who has not been named was found with a family member after initially putting out an alert he was missing.

The teen had left without the mother knowing earlier this evening.

Officials thanked the public for their prayers and well wishes this evening during their brief search.

Cedartown emergency officials are asking for the public’s help in finding a 14-year-old boy mental disabilities.

Cedartown Fire, Cedartown Police, Polk County EMA and Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies are all on the search in the last hour seeking a young man named Cane, a 14-year-old white male who has mental disabilities and is verbally challenged.

Officials said he was last seen leaving his home at 408 Edna Street, Cedartown. He was last seen wearing black pants, and may or may not have on a shirt. He was watching TV when last seen by his mother, and then apparently left home.
