Barry Trent McDonald, age 72, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Saturday morning, June 1, 2024, at his residence.
Barry was born in Cedartown, GA, on July 12, 1951, son of the late Jesse McDonald and Irene Samples McDonald.
He had lived all his life in Polk County and was a member of Victory Baptist Church. Barry retired from Meggitt as a production scheduler after a number of years of service.
He enjoyed sports of all kinds, loved going fishing and listening to music. Barry’s most enjoyable time was coaching his sons in baseball and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Barry was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy McDonald and a sister-in-law, Gail McDonald.
Barry is survived by his wife, Lisa Diane McCord McDonald, whom he married July 11, 1975; three sons, Jason McDonald, Tyler (Amanda) McDonald, and Travis McDonald; grandchildren, Tristan McDonald, Austin McDonald, Jaxson McDonald, Kalyn Clark, and Andrew McDonald; great-granddaughter, Zyliah Ruff; niece, Jan McDonald.
Memorial services for Barry will be held on Friday evening, June 7, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Pastor James Cordell officiating.
Barry’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Friday from 5:00 p.m. until the service hour.
