Cedartown’s location of Badcock Furniture & More is going to close its doors once their inventory is gone as their parent company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in Texas.
Conn’s Inc., the parent company for Badcock Furniture’s 380 stores across the southeast, filed for those protections and will be closing additional locations of its HomePlus stores that are spread across the nation, two of those also in Georgia.
There are sales both online and in person for the Badcock brand as they go out of business. Sales of 30 to 50% off of regular price for various items are underway while supplies last.

Badcock made the announcement that all stores were closing earlier this week.
The local store page had not posted on social media yet about their closing plans, but the storefront did have a banner out on the Town Plaza location in Cedartown.
It marks one of the latest national retailers and restaurants shuttering its doors this year, the highest profile of those being Red Lobster locations all across the nation – including the one in Rome.
Badcock Furniture & More was just purchased by Conn, Inc., back in 2023. The company has faced three years in a row of losses, and their stock price plummeted in recent months making hopes that they could put together a turnaround plan for the business without shedding assets and filing for bankruptcy protection a real issue.
